Hawaiian Dream
SYNOPSIS
Mark the Shark is a short documentary portrait of a South Florida shark hunter whose half-century-long career has been pulled out from under him by the very waters that built it. Once a fixture of Miami's charter-fishing scene, Mark now contends with depleted stocks, tightening regulations, and a changing public appetite that has turned a once-celebrated trade into a vanishing one. Filmed at close range, the documentary follows him through the quieter rhythms of a career winding down, the docks, the gear, the stories, and sits with the harder questions underneath: what a man does when the thing he's known for is no longer wanted, and how a life shaped by the ocean reckons with what the ocean has become.
